Fight Racism
I believe that many Australians are passionate about fighting racism in all its forms and continuing the journey towards reconciliation between our indigenous and non-indigenous communities. Please help me to build a long list of ways we can come together to make the voices of Australia’s anti-racists heard.
The NSW Reconciliation Council is a community organisation made up of indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. They hold a range of events throughout the year like music festivals, school workshops, competitions, conferences and campaigns all aimed at promoting reconciliation in NSW. There are many ways to get involved.
The good people at A Start In Life run a program called Barinya which provides financial and emotional support to indigenous kids all the way from pre school, through primary and high school. They do this through teachers trained in integrating Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander culture with education department curriculum.
Desert2Surf is a about “Making desert dreams come true” by giving kids from remote communities the opportunity to participate in exciting, fun outdoor activities like surfing. There are lots of ways to get involved and support this brilliant initiative.
